Tracie Hicks

Mental Health Counselor Associate

Hello, my name is Tracie, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate. I graduated from Walden University with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I approach counseling from a Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy perspective, identifying and processing patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behavioral responses to help you learn how to identify and solve problems that may arise from life stressors, either big or small. I also draw from other evidenced-based therapy approaches such as Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Exposure Therapy. By drawing from multiple approaches, I am able to tailor treatment to your individual needs and goals. I believe that counseling is a collaborative effort between the counselor and client. It is my job to walk beside you in your journey by offering support, encouragement, and empowerment so that you are able reach your therapeutic goals.

Specialties: I have experience working with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, and grief and loss. I am an abuse/trauma survivor, I understand how difficult it may be to seek help when in an abusive relationship. Please know that I am here to support you

throughout your journey by providing a safe, trusting, and judgment free environment so that you

are able to work towards achieving your therapeutic goals. My goal for therapy is to build a

warm and trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel safe to explore patterns of behavior,

thoughts, and emotions that are causing concern.

Hobbies: In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family. I am married with four adult children and two German Shepherds. I enjoy being out in nature, being outside brings me great joy and peace. I am an avid hiker and camper. I absolutely love to travel and to go on new adventures. Additionally, I enjoy gardening, baking, cooking, and yoga.
